The causes, symptoms, resulting behaviors, and needs for clients in each of these categories will be covered in this class. There will be a short non-medical description of the various conditions. The primary emphasis of the class will be to examine the particular needs of clients with each of these conditions and how caregivers can best meet their particular needs. Caregivers will be provided with strategies designed specifically for each of these types of clients that will assist clients in maintaining independence, dignity, and functional ADL levels. We will briefly discuss how professional caregivers can provide support to the non-professional support network involved in these clients' lives.
